First First

I really don't want my blog to become a gymnastics blog but this moment is too big not to document it.  (And between work and gymnastics, I just haven't found time to write about anything else.)

Natalie had her second meet as a level five and not only did she improve her all-around score by a full two points, she also earned her first ever first place finish!  There were 14 other girls in her age group and as you can see from the picture, many of them are her teammates.

Lys also competed this last weekend.  It was a rough meet for her with several falls.  And it was all made more frustrating because her warm-up routines were gorgeous.  She did however, end very strong on floor with a score of 9.525!  (2nd place) A score that high is definitely a first for her.  It's in there for her to do that well on every event and when it all finally comes together, she's going to be amazing.  We're hoping that happens on Friday, when she competes in Ft. Worth, Texas.

For now, though, let's enjoy Nat's first first. So proud of you, Natty!  You look great on top of that podium.
